I am an Italian/Irish gal living in a small town in Pennsylvania. I always think the glass is half full and think life is what you make it. I love symbolism and try to incorporate a lot of it into my writing.
In college I wrote a poem about a ladybug and was surprised when my profressor asked if he could include it in the annual literary magazine. My father told me to hold on to that because I never knew if I would need it one day. At the time I didn’t realize that writing was always my first love, it was just something I did.
Having children turned the lightbulb on and I never shut it off. I took writing courses with the Institute of Children’s Literature, joined critique groups and devoured anything I could get my hands on regarding this wonderful craft. I placed runner-up in a SCBWI monthly contest and that was what I needed to keep going. ABC studios purchased a story on motherhood from me for the short lived comedy “In the Motherhood.”
I hope that fate and good writing hooks me up with a fantastic agent and my journey leads to a good destination.
Every writer has a dream. I am waiting for mine to come true.

Hi! I put you on my blog today as a Blessing: http://www.writingstraight.com
Holly
I have just discovered your blog through a link on another blog. I totally dig it.
I am a wanna-be writer from Australia. I have just written my first long story for a public audience. I chose to publish it on my blog because I was too impatient to try to wait for it to be turned into a book
I have added your blog to my blog roll because I think it’s awesome. I read the blogs on my blog roll every day so hope you don’t mind my coming to visit and read more.
Hi Herby, wow I am totally flattered. Welcome to my blog, I am truly excited to meet you. Good luck with your writing endeavors. I hope I can keep it interesting over here for you. Have a wonderful day.
Maribeth:)
I’m excited to follow you, also. I decided to self-publish my first novel and am working on the few finishing touches that remain. I’m in Maryland, mostly Italian (with a little bit of Irish thrown in from my dad’s mom), and have been blogging since April. I think it’s so great that writers can connect with other writers from all over. Excited to read more of your journey!
I love your blog, so powerful messages specially on your last blog “Rejection” your feelings are written directly into those words so beautiful writing. Keep up the great work
Hi Andy, thank you so much for that kind comment. I am glad to meet you. I hope you stop by again.
