What If?

You are at your child’s baseball game. There is a perfectly polished mother standing against the fence cheering her child on. She is wearing a Burberry coat, penny loafers, chino’s and her shiny blonde hair is pulled up in a tight ponytail. What if the temperature spiked and this mother found herself too hot in her expensive coat? She takes off the coat and underneath she is wearing a battered holey tank top and her arms are covered with tattoos that stretch from her shoulders to her wrists, would this surprise you?

Where am I going with this? This scenario is part of the What If game I like to play. I must alert you this game can become addicting. It can be played alone or with others and it is a great way to add spice to your stories. Try doing this for one day and see what new idea’s you come up with. Dare to put a twist on ordinary and you may find you come up with extraordinary.

  1. I suppose I would have to know what these things looked like in my head before I’d be surprised. I guess from your careful description they’re pretty fancy/expensive stuff.

The What If game is about imagining something different than what you are experiencing. It could be you are in a church and out of no where a naked man walks down the aisle. You are supposed to say to yourself What if this happened (insert your idea) it makes life a bit funner and writing a bit more interesting.

  2. Oooh, I have actually seen something like this. 😉 But it wasn’t Burberry, it was a fur 😉

  3. As much as I can understand right now, I think you’re right!
